Waterfalls at sunset

This was the most interested 'gun sighting' trip I've been on yet.

My new fav afternoon hangout

Summer! Well it feels like its here already... afternoons laxing by the lake.
Spot of fishing as the sun disappears behind the mountains

Rees Valley walk

Loved it... Beautiful weather, awesome company, good old great outdoors - and all in our backyard!!
If you can't avoid shadows.. might as well make use of them, right??!
guess who
This is shelter rock hut. Great hut, flush toilets in summer too. Just took us a couple of hours walk from the start of Mt Aspiring National Park. (handy having Jesse's Hilux, cut out approx 5-6 hours walking up the river!)

Best part? Filling the freezer, doing our part of the possum population and of course - hearing, then seeing a couple of thundering cornice triggered avalanches fall off the top of the cliffs to the left of the Hut.

Photos from my phone

These were taken early August, I think..
Just had a couple of days at Remarks this year. Chose them well though! Fun fun fun.

Spring!

Mother swan and her ugly ducklings... is that how it goes??
The snow is disappearing... days getting longer...
here is our house
This is Sprite. I was lamb sitting for the day, very sweet and loved running around the back yard... I wasn't encouraging him...
Just one of the reasons I love spring!

We have a friendly Bellbird! It's always around singing away on sunny days.

Lovers Leap, Mt Earnslaw had a surprize for us!

Don't why they call it Lovers Leap...
Mt Alfred and the Routeburn valley in the background with diamond lake below Mt Earnslaw
Jesse looking towards Earnslaw Glacier
It doesn't look that high from the bottom!

This guy looked like he might leap off...
Can you see him here? Proof that Chamios are around these parts...
